The short answer is no. However, we highly recommend it!
We want to be able to provide you with an exceptional one-on-one experience.
Although you’re welcome to walk in, we can’t guarantee that our consultants won’t already be tied up with someone else.
We have multiple appointment options available. You can book an appointment to try on gowns, or book one of your VIP gown shopping experiences to take your dress finding to the next level.
We suggest 10-12 months before the big day! Take the pressure off, no one wants to be rushed into making a big decision. It can take several months for your gown to arrive. (The designers are making your dress just for you after all!) You can also expect weeks for alterations ensuring the perfect fit! While some designers can meet a tight delivery deadline, if you give yourself more time it will save on rush fees!
It would be beneficial to bring or wear nude, strapless and seamless undergarments. You’ll get the best look in the gowns that way! We also appreciate it if you wear minimal make-up to keep our gowns free of stains. If you’ve already purchased your shoes and accessories bring them along!
Please arrive to your appointment on time! Our bridal appointments are scheduled for 2 hours and are scheduled back-to-back. If you arrive late, it will cut into the amount of time you have to try on dresses.
We recommend bringing 1-2 of your closest friends or family with you. We know there can be a temptation to bring your whole tribe, but what brides often don’t realize is that bringing lots of people sounds fun, but can be very overwhelming!

Also, we love ALL the littles, but we ask that you leave those who are on the run at home, this day deserves your undivided attention. 😉
Most of our gowns range between $2000-$4500. We do have a number of gowns available in prices ranges below and above the average. Don’t sweat it, we’ve got you!
We have a wide range of sample sizes in the salon for you to try on. Let’s not get caught up with numbers, every designer’s size chart is different! Let’s see what fits best when you come in. Your consultant will have lots of ways to help you envision your dream dress, even if the sample is too big or too small!
We do not offer on-site alterations. We have a list of recommended seamstresses in locations closest to your home. Please keep in mind that alteration fees are always an additional cost and can vary depending on the work being done.
Congratulations you said yes! After your consultant has taken your measurements and we’ve decided on the best size for you we ask that the payment be made in full to order your gown.
If this is just not something you are able to do, we are happy to discuss payment options at your appointment.

Parking on Dundas Street in Woodstock is FREE for 2 hours. It can be busy, conveniently we have a municipal parking lot located at the rear of the building. It is also FREE for 2 hours. (Feel free to enter through the rear entrance of the boutique).
A trunk show is what we order from the designers we carry at Tansy’s Bridal to showcase a collection of dresses for a limited period of time, typically 2 weeks. You are able to come in and view additional styles that we don’t carry in the boutique. In some cases, we can order the entire collection! We will often offer a special incentive if you purchase one of the dresses featured in the Trunk Show during the time it is here. We would suggest booking an appointment to try on items featured in the trunk show as it can be very busy in the boutique due to the limited amount of time the collection is here.
